November: A Month of Generosity

Military Family Month

Earlier this month Pentagon Press Secretary, John F. Kirby, said “Our nation’s servicemembers do not serve alone. Alongside them are the dedicated members of their families whose commitment and resolve absolutely strengthens our nation and our ability to defend this nation.”

In recognition of the commitment and sacrifices military families make for their servicemembers, Military Family Month is recognized in the month of November. Military families adaptability while supporting a family at home makes it possible for servicemembers to remain focused while actively serving our nation during deployments and training. Military families’ willingness to learn new cities, explore new cultures, and welcome new opportunities is essential to the success of the servicemember and the U.S. Armed Forces. During November, and all year militaryonesource assists military families with information on employment opportunities, education, childcare, relocation, and much more. During this Military Family Month, thank a military family or offer an act of kindness for their support to the country and servicemember.

Native American Heritage Month

In 1986, President Regan Declared November 23–30 as “American Indian Week.” Thankfully this tradition has grown and every president since 1995 has issued annual proclamations designating the month of November as a time to celebrate Native American heritage. This month is a time to celebrate the rich history, culture, and traditions of American Indians and Alaska Natives (AIAN). According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Native Americans serve in the U.S. Armed Forces at five times the national average and have served with distinction in every major conflict for the past 200 years. NVTI is taking time this Native American Heritage Month to celebrate AIAN veterans for serving with valor, and their important contributions to the United States. Veterans Day

This Veterans Day, NVTI wants to take a moment to thank the veterans for their devotion and exemplary commitment to America. Veterans worldwide should recognize the country’s insurmountable expression of gratitude for their service, and our commitment to serving them. NVTI honors veterans and servicemembers worldwide for their service, sacrifice, and dedication to the nation. Thank you for a job well done!
